Description
Working as a nurse in the emergency department (ED) comes with its own set of challenges. Being selected as a preceptor for new ED nurses presents many new challenges leading to rewarding experiences. The preceptor assignment can enable adequate individual instruction of the orientee while providing learning opportunities for both preceptor and preceptee. The preceptor role can positively impact the one-year retention rates of the novice emergency nurse. This course aims to help the ED nurse build a foundation to serve as a preceptor.
