Pediatric Respiratory Emergencies
A clinical learning experience (CLE) on pediatric respiratory emergencies will allow the emergency room nurse to rapidly identify, properly intervene, analyze interventions, and anticipate needs in order to produce best patient outcomes. Course expires 3/31/2023.
Description
Many new and seasoned emergency room nurses may not have adequate experience with pediatric emergencies, or substantial self-efficacy in the care they provide to this vulnerable population. A clinical learning experience (CLE) on pediatric respiratory emergencies will allow the emergency room nurse to rapidly identify, properly intervene, analyze interventions, and anticipate needs in order to produce best patient outcomes. This CLE will provide exposure to the novice emergency room nurse, as well as improve experienced nurses in areas of clinical competence, leadership, and teamwork (Sage-Rockoff, Ciardiello, & Schubert, 2019). The purpose of this content is to describe a clinical learning experience on pediatric respiratory emergencies that will improve clinical reasoning and readiness of nurses in the emergency room as recommended by the Emergency Nursing Association’s Policy Statement, released in January 2019.

Presenter: Anna Tatro, BSN, RN
