Coding and Documentation in the ER
This presentation will examine the components under each guideline, documentation requirements and how they are calculated. Course expires 8/1/2022.
Description

In 1997 the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) developed a set of guidelines which provided additional options for quantifying component levels (history of present illness, chief complaint, and past family history) by providing bullet points for single organ system examinations so that documentation became more of a checklist.  This presentation will examine the components under each guideline, documentation requirements and how they are calculated.

Presenter: Jill Johnson, DNP
