Description
The healthcare industry is one of the most highly regulated sectors in the United States, as evidenced by the vast array of laws and regulations related to healthcare access, quality, licensing, eligibility, safety, and cost. Healthcare law has implications for the triage nurse. Healthcare law defines the standards to be upheld during patient visits in the ED. The triage nurse must be knowledgeable about regulations and laws prior to, during, and after triage occurs, to provide the safest patient care.
