Description
GENE is a comprehensive course developed to help improve emergency department outcomes for older adults. Elderly patients can often present a unique set of challenges for emergency nurses. This course offers nurses the tools to provide quality geriatric-specific care, to recognize atypical geriatric presentations of illness, and to help improve geriatric patient outcomes. Completion of this program will provide 15.25 contact hours of CNE. The learner will need to view all 17 modules and submit the course evaluation.
 
Learner Outcome(s): Learners will be able to recognize atypical geriatric presentations of illness and apply effective nursing interventions and care strategies for the geriatric patient. By applying the knowledge gained in this course to their nursing practice, learners will help improve geriatric patient outcomes.
