Interacting with the Transport Team: Improving Patient Safety via Handoff Reports
This activity examines the importance of clear, concise reporting between the transport team and nurses. Course expires 9/30/2022.
Description
Transport teams regularly encounter nurses with the paradigm that giving report to the transport team (or receiving it from the transport team) is unnecessary. Not only is this legally not true; but can also cause patient harm. We will look at some of the literature regarding the importance of providing an adequate handoff report, situations that may cause a change in patient status, and examples of both good and poor report habits.

Presenter: Chris Benson, BSN, PHRN, CEN, TCRN, CFRN
