Description
Today’s complex healthcare environment, where adaptation, innovation, and value-based care are essential, demands a collaborative approach and culture. Healthcare leaders must shift away from the individual expert model, and move towards a model of collaboration between professions, functions, and generations, to ensure high-quality patient care. Additionally, as systems of care extend beyond the traditional hospital setting and organizational boundaries, toward population health, collaboration will be necessary. Emergency Departments are no different and must work towards collaboration, communication, and care relationships between all members of the ED team. Emergency Nurse leaders are uniquely placed to lead emergency department teams, using a collaborative approach and model.
