Description
Given the high mortality rate of the obstetric patient population, this course offers targeted insight for emergency nurses to be able to provide optimal care for patients who are pregnant/were recently pregnant. The learner will review the management of the obstetric patient in the emergency department, with specific information for each trimester. The post-partum patient is also reviewed as this is an additional high-risk period wherein critical symptoms can be missed.
