Description
Emergency nurse leaders face challenges daily. This can be within their team or outside partnerships. To be successful as a nurse leader, one must take a multifaceted approach to the position. Leaders must be insightful and motivated individuals with purpose, direction, and confidence, who display great communication skills, flexibility, and a desire to find success. These attributes can be developed and attained, through a structured approach to leadership development.
Nurse leaders can utilize the triad of vision, relationship building and execution in their practice. Relationship with self (self-mastery and emotional intelligence), relationships with others and the ability to motivate and unite a team are key factors that provide an emergency nurse leader with the foundation to respond to challenging leadership moments or experiences.
