Description
Assessing a patient’s potential fall risk while hospitalized is the initial step in fall prevention. The emergency department is a unique environment, with patients presenting in acute phases of illness. As a result, injury and fall risk assessment and associated intervention may warrant different strategies than in other acute care settings.
