Stryker's Prime Series stretchers were developed to safely and efficiently transport patients under any given condition. Prime Series stretchers exemplify the standard of care across the country, providing advanced mobility with big wheel and motorized zoom options. Brakes. There are standard brake steer pedals located on the head and foot section, or as an option on all four sides of our big wheel electric model. Press the pedal to neutral to allow the stretcher to move freely, both side to side and when pivoting. Big wheel. Big wheel technology greatly reduces your startup and steering effort by shortening the wheel base when activated. To engage big wheel, simply press the pedal into the neutral position and then again so it locks into steer. Zoom. To activate the zoom feature, press the pedal until it locks into steer. Ensure the power cord is removed from the wall, squeeze at least one of the yellow triggers until the LED turns green, then begin to walk. Prime's zoom motor will match your speed forward and in reverse. The harder you push, the faster it will drive. Raising the stretcher. Prime stretchers have hydraulic pump pedals located on both sides of the base and as an option at the foot end. The hydraulic functionality helps you raise the stretcher with minimal effort. On the big wheel electric model, the lift itself is electric, meaning you do not have to manually pump any pedals, giving your patients a smooth lift and lowering experience. By pressing the release, the stretcher smoothly descends to a low height of just under 21 inches. Side rails. The full-length GlideAway side rails tuck under the stretcher, creating a zero transfer gap. Once the patient is on the stretcher, simply swing the side rail up and out of the stored position until it locks into place. Thanks to GlideAway side rails, gliding the side rail down and under the stretcher is a breeze with head and foot end release levers. What's more, Prime side rails have absolutely no pinch points, keeping you and your patients safe. Comfort controls. For patients who prefer to keep in the same position, use the patient lockout button located on the foot control panel. The control panel includes caregiver controls that allow you to manipulate the stretcher even when patient lockout is activated. Manual backups. All electric litter features have manual backups. Manually raising and lowering the backrest is simple with the exclusive BackSmart lift assist. Lift assist's exclusive drop seat design cradles the patient and uses his or her weight to either raise or lower the backrest, minimizing the caregiver's effort. Knee gatch. To lower the knee gatch, pull the yellow release at the left foot end of the stretcher. There's also an integrated kickstand at the foot of the stretcher that can be used instead of pillows to help elevate your patient's feet. Chair position. Prime's recovery chair position helps eliminate the need for unnecessary transfers by providing a comfortable sitting position for patients to recover. Carefully raise the backrest and knees, then put the stretcher in reverse Trendelenburg. Thanks to BackSmart technology, the drop seat provides a comfortable, proper envelopment for your patients, ensuring a safe position while in the recovery chair configuration. Scale. Our Prime Big Wheel electric and Prime Zoom electric stretchers feature a scale. When admitting patients, remember to zero, weigh, set. To ensure you're taking accurate weights, you'll need to dress the stretcher prior to zeroing the scale. Use any linens, pads, and pillows necessary for the next patient. To zero out the scale, press and hold the zero button until the LED screen reads REL or release. Once zeroed, position your patient on the stretcher. From here, taking a patient's weight is as easy as pressing the weigh button. Chaperone bed alarm. After capturing the patient's weight, activate the chaperone exit alarm. Press the arm disarm button and select either zone one or two. Zone one gives your patient more freedom to move, sit up, and adjust, while zone two gives your patient a little less room for movement. While using the chaperone alarm, it is important to still have the stretcher in low height with both side rails raised. To disarm the chaperone feature, hold down the arm disarm button until it reads RELEASE. Once disarmed, a patient is free to use the restroom or go for testing. Always remember to reset the alarm once the patient is positioned back in the stretcher. Unplugging. If it's time to unplug the stretcher, be sure to slide the rubber stopper along the cord. This will provide enough slack to prevent any extra bending on the caregiver's part when it comes time to plug the stretcher back in.
Video Summary
