Pdf Summary
The ENRP Schedule outlines the activities and focus for each week of the Emergency Nursing Residency Program. Weeks 1 and 2 are dedicated to didactic education, equipment training, and skill development. Week 3 focuses on completing additional hospital training, introducing the nursing process, and applying the HIRAID framework. Week 4 involves residents spending time alongside different roles in the emergency department. Week 5 provides an opportunity for residents to learn about continuity of care in different units of the hospital.

Weeks 6-10 focus on immersive patient experiences and working with preceptors to develop clinical judgment and prioritization skills. Residents care for one to three patients, building on their knowledge and expertise. Weeks 11-14 involve working more independently with preceptors, managing a higher number of patients, and discussing plans of care with healthcare providers.

Weeks 15-18 mark a transition to caring for more critical patients independently, with less oversight. Residents can carry out nursing assessments, interventions, and treatments on their own, using their preceptors as resources. The last week is dedicated to reflection and completion of final evaluations and requirements. Residents are encouraged to watch the "In Case of Emergency" documentary together and submit their final self-evaluations and completion certificates. Week 19 signifies the resident practicing independently.
