Stryker's Cub Crib has a simple, safe design and an appearance that creates a comforting environment for pediatric patients during uncertain times, all while serving as a critical tool for caregivers. There are brake and steer pedals located on both sides of the Cub Crib. Upon pressing the pedal into the steer position, a retractable fifth wheel will drop in the middle of the Stryker base. This will help keep the Stryker from drifting or sliding when transporting. In order to move the Stryker freely in all directions, push the brake steer pedal into the neutral position. When you've finished moving the Stryker, press the pedal to the brake position to engage the brake on all four casters. The Stryker also comes with a hydraulic lift pedal and release controls to lower the Stryker or to place it in Trend or Reverse Trendelenburg position. The head and foot ends are clearly marked with child-friendly illustrations and colored markings, all of which are on the outside of the Stryker to prevent any curious children from trying to put their hands in compromising positions. The Cub Crib Stryker is complete with a pneumatic Fowler backrest. To raise the head section, lift the activation lever and raise the backrest from 0 to 50 degrees, or anywhere in between. To lower, lift the head section activation lever and push down on the Fowler. To raise the foot section, simply lift until the support arm secures in the desired location, which can be either 6 or 12 degrees. Lowering the foot section is easy, just lift the Fowler and release the support bar. The Stryker Cub Crib's unique design allows for all four side rails to be raised or lowered. To raise a side, simply grasp the side rail and pull up until it is secured at your desired height, 9, 14, or 26 inches. To ensure the rails are locked, you must align or match the visual arrows that indicate it is locked in place. To lower the side rails, just hold the activation handle, squeeze the trigger, and turn the handle to the left or right. Then lower the side rail until it is at your desired height. To ensure the side rails are locked in place, check the alignment of the Stryker's visual guides. Our quiet access doors at the head and foot end allow for convenient access to patients with minimal disruptions. To open any of the four doors, squeeze the release knobs and swing the door open. To close, simply return the door to the closed position. The open-close indicators will show green when the door is locked in the closed position. When taking a patient's weight, it is important to first zero out the stretcher's built-in scale. To do this, turn the scale on by pressing the Weigh On button. Next, press and hold the Zero button for about 2 seconds. It is important to note that the mattress and stretcher should have all linens, pillows, or pumps on the bed prior to zeroing out. Once you see a zero weight, you may place your patient in the crib. To take your patient's weight, just press the Weigh On button. Three dashes will flash on the display for about 10 seconds before displaying the patient's weight. To set the scale memory, press and hold the Memory button. Release the button once Memory appears on the display. To retrieve stored weights, press the Weigh On button, immediately followed by the Memory button. Press the Weigh On button again to exit Memory mode. To add or remove equipment after the scale has already been zeroed out, all you have to do is press and release the Weigh On button and wait for three dashes and the weight to appear. Next, press and release the Change Equip button. The Change Equipment message will appear on the display after about 10 seconds. Then you're free to add or remove equipment from the stretcher. To complete the exchange, briefly press and release the Change Equipment button. If the procedure takes longer than three minutes, the scale will shut off and the steps will need to be repeated. As a final measure to ensure patient safety, Stryker's crib can be outfitted with a protective top. For more information regarding positioning and general use, please refer to the operation manual.
